I think that this an essential component of the best approach to elections from where we are now. Not that long ago it was standard best practice from communists and socialists in electoral contests where they weren't standing their own candidates

Well done Duncan and fully support what you are saying. I'm not at all sure about the Green Left in Cymru at the current time. Anyway this was one of the last statements from the People's Assembly Wales which covers much of the same ground and goes further in terms of a 'needs based comprehensive spending review'. https://pawalescymru.blogspot.com/2022/11/resisting-tory-austerity-in-wales-our_15.html You can see the history of the People's Assembly year after year trying to get Senedd members to fight austerity: https://pawalescymru.blogspot.com/ Much of this work has been supported by Cymru'n Codi and is embedded in our programme. We shall be looking to the left to take it forward in their parties if they are membes of one or directly in terms of supporting Cymru'n Codi: https://cymruncodi.substack.com/
