My comment on that WhatApp thread: "Bourgeois idea and traditional values dominate everywhere. A people under dictatorship will want the fall of the regime. Unless the masses develop self-organisation, self-confidence and vision, then those dominant ideas win. But, working class facing less strong dictatorship, or none, is in an easier position to develop. We cannot regret the fall of the dictatorship, or oppose the mass struggle against it, simply because the masses have not spontanously developed perfect socialist ideas and organization. That happens no-where. Either we support the uprising or, as in the scandalous article by Elina Xenophonto shared here yesterday, we say the struggle against dictatorship is reactionary.
So, I am totally open to people talking about the weaknesses of this or that government. But the idea that we should oppose a democratic revolution because it opens the country to the influence of foreign ideas, such an idea is nothing to do with mainstream socialism of the past 200 years, or even with the mainstream of Enlightenment thinking."
To be fair, the campists in YP are generally Stalinists and social democrats. The Trotskyists, like the various Grantites, are all fairly good on this.
“Campist” ? Long since gave up trying to keep up to date with the current vernacular of the left’s name-calling. Put me down as old fashioned “Clause Four Labour”.

Oh dear, so sadly inevitable, to see Your Party sparking the traditional Trots internecine war.

It pays to improve your word power. https://redmole.substack.com/p/from-campism-to-internationalism
I prefer improving my French and German, which gives me a wider range of interesting and different perspectives. Cheers
