The Communist party of Britian (CPB) and workers party of Britian (CPB) thought that sacrificing sections of the population such as migrants or trans people would bolster them.

The so called 'conservative left', wherein moderate left wing economic reforms are combined with reactionary rhetoric on social issues doesn't work, and both internal membership nunbers and recent election results prove the limitations of this approach, especially in Scottish election this year, and to a lesser extent in the English local elections.

The main problem is if they are willing to throw one group under the metaphorical bus, who is to say you aren't next? If its equality, suffrage and liberation for all expect some, then who is to say someone's group doesn't suddenly become part of that 'some'.

It's a matter of trust, you can't inspire people who are interested in universal working class liberation while demonising the most heavily socially oppressed aspects of the working class.
