"Excellent article; I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Having been an antifascist since the 1970s, I have often felt that labelling every right-wing movement as 'fascist' oversimplifies the threat. People frequently note that our current era mirrors the 1930s, or that certain actions mimic the Nazis of the 1920s. However, if a movement must perfectly mirror historical Nazism to be considered fascist, we will completely miss the rise of the modern global right. I believe waiting to fight until a movement is clearly recognisable is waiting too long. If a movement is authoritarian, enacts anti-working-class policies, and aligns with the establishment on cultural issues, it is fascist. We must fight it now before it reaches that final stage. This is the crucial lesson currently being learned in the US."
